Josie Davenport of Tama, Iowa, always had an interest in cars, with an affinity for Mustangs she picked up from her father.

“As my passion grew, I was like, ‘I want to know how to fix everything.’” she said. “I don't want to just, like, have the car. I want to know how to do everything on it “

Josie came to Hawkeye on the recommendation of her father, himself a graduate of the Automotive Technology program. Josie enrolled in Auto Collision Technologies, with plans to continue on into Automotive Technology, then transfer to UNI for Technology Management.

“I see myself either having my own shop or managing another body shop,” she said. “But the main thing I want to do is just work on my own cars and help my family with their cars.”
